Golf Classic June 29th 2018-Cork Golf Club

Current Research at CancerResearch@UCC in collaboration with Weill Cornell

We are currently raising more funding to support our current research doctor – Dr Dalyia Benjamin, who has returned from Weill Cornell University in New York. She started there in July 2016. and will complete her research this autumn. Dr Benjamin will then return to patient care in a Haematology post in Ireland.

This research holds out the promise of providing treatment that may be less toxic and suitable for use in older people where normal chemotherapy is has too many side effects. Actually, leukaemia affects far more older adults than children and we certainly have room for improving our treatments and the outlook for older patients. This is why we hope that ours and other groups research continue to provide hope in this area.
